OAKLAND ECO DENTAL FAMILY,
We are so thankful for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
In cooperation with county guidelines we have resumed normal operations. We have always prided ourselves on maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and infection control. The main priority during this time is the safety and protection of patients and staff when you visit us for care.
We have updated our protocols in the following ways:
Upon arrival we ask you to call us before entering to check in and wait in your car. We can take payment from you at this time, to minimize the time spent in the office. This will allow us to adhere to social distancing protocols. Once the back office is ready to see you we will call you to come into the building where your temperature will be taken. Any guests with you will be unable to enter the building, we also ask you limit the belongings you bring in with you to the essentials. Our plan is to address follow up care appointments, payments and financial arrangements over the phone either before or after your appointment.
Patient screening measures:
Thorough medical history reviews
Vitals will now include forehead temperature scan and blood pressure
Pre-visit screening questionnaires
Personalized discussion of your medical history and how it correlates to your systemic health
Importance of oral hygiene as it relates to your systemic health
We have installed medical grade surgical suite micro HEPA air filters that capture 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns, which is the approximate size of the corona virus (0.125 microns)
We are installing extra oral aerosol evacuators to eliminate additional aerosols produced by treatment (filtering out 99.9995% of particles down to 0/12 microns)
Additional intra oral aerosol reduction devices will be used to further limit dental aerosols. For procedures with the dentist we will implement rubber dams to completely isolate the mouth eliminating aerosols and for hygiene we will limit use of aerosol producing instruments to be used only in conjunction with an assistant or the intraoral devices we have added.
Patients will now pre-rinse with antimicrobial solutions prior to treatment to reduce the potential of viral presence in the mouth.
We will be using ozonated water in our lines to further reduce possible viral contamination.
Hand sanitizer and masks will be available throughout the office. as well as providing extra assistants to help manage these evacuators.
We will be regularly defogging each dental operatory after each patient with disinfectant that specifically targets COVID-19 to inactivate and kill any potential pathogens that remain in the air. This is a completely safe and non toxic process.
Our staff has been provided with the highest standard of PPE including minimum of ASTM level 3 masks and N95 respirators, full face shields and surgical caps and isolation gowns (washable and made for us by a local seamstress to support local business during the shelter in place order)
Dental hygiene visits will be staggered with the first appointments of the day starting at 7:45 and 8, as well as an extended appointment time of 75 minutes in order to ensure that we can let the room sit for the CDC recommended 15 minutes before cleaning and readying for the next patient.
Our team will reach out to you to notify you when we will begin scheduling patients and to provide further information about our scheduling process.
Due to the current situation our financial policy will be changing. While we look to accommodate all patients we will no longer be accepting cash, payments can still be made with credit or check, and please be prepared to make your payment at the time of service. As a courtesy to you, to reduce your time in the office, we are also offering over the phone payments prior to your appointment.
We understand that this will be a new experience and are here to answer any questions you may have in regards to the safety measures we are implementing. We encourage any feedback and questions you may have. We will update you until we are able to return, and are excited to resume your care.
